The Swedish duo Van Rivers & The Subliminal Kid are perceived as one of the leading DJ tandems in North Europe. They spent their childhood together with different punk bands, but later both musicians realized that they have a much stronger passion for electronics. Today they play not only their own music, but also create different remixes for artists like Fever Ray, Lykke Li, Massive Attack, Bat for Lashes and many others. It was also them who produced the solo album of Karin Dreijer from The Knife. Currently they are touring together with her.

At the end of October Riga and the fashion, art and music event of the year [moment] shot by mareunrol`s shall welcome more than 30 various Latvian and foreign designers from 15 countries and their latest collections and works. From the 29th of October, 2008 till 3rd of November, 2008 black and white photo collection ‘Portraits of her’ by Swedish photographer Asa Johannesson will be exhibited at ‘Riga art space’. It is is a comment on the norms and ideals of femininity as portrayed in the photographic portrait. Read more »
